Bangladesh Level Series with 34-Run Victory Against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh successfully leveled the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe after securing a clinical 34-run victory in the second T20I at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 17, 2026. After being asked to bat first by Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, the visitors posted a challenging total of 186 for 5, driven by a dominant opening partnership and a late-innings surge.

The foundation for Bangladesh’s total was laid by openers Tanzid Hasan and Saif Hassan, who put together an assertive 120-run stand. Tanzid Hasan led the charge with a 44-ball 58, featuring six boundaries and two sixes, while Saif Hassan provided steady support with a 45-ball 55. Although Zimbabwe’s bowlers, led by Richard Ngarava who claimed 2 for 23, managed a brief middle-order collapse, Mohammad Saifuddin ensured a strong finish for the visitors. Saifuddin hammered an unbeaten 31 off just 10 deliveries, plundering 46 runs from the final five overs to push Bangladesh to 186.

In response, Zimbabwe struggled against the Bangladeshi bowling unit, finding themselves in early trouble at 56 for 3 during the powerplay. Despite notable contributions from Ryan Burl (29) and captain Sikandar Raza (28), the hosts were unable to sustain momentum against persistent bowling. Rishad Hossain emerged as the standout performer for Bangladesh with the ball, dismantling the Zimbabwean lineup to finish with an impressive 4-wicket haul.

Mahedi Hasan also played a crucial role in restricting the hosts, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs as Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 152 in 19.4 overs. The victory marks a significant turnaround for Bangladesh, who had lost the opening match of the series, and sets up a decider for the upcoming final fixture. Mohammad Saifuddin was named Man of the Match for his explosive cameo and impactful bowling performance.
